We're Back! Free Printable Enjoy Today Art Print

Hello friends!
It seems like forever since my last post.  A lot has happened.  Long story short, my mom became ill in January of this year and was hospitalized.  She was doing better but then had to be readmitted in June and spent over three months in the hospital.  I am thankful that I was able to make trips home to Houston every week with my girls over the summer since they were out of school for summer break.  Having them home with me was much needed as they were a good distraction with everything that was going on.  Now, that we are in full swing with the new school year, getting home to Houston is not as easy. When the girls are at school, thinking about my mom consumes my day.  I think getting back to blogging will be good for me as it will keep me busy.  Thank you to everyone who checked in to see if everything is alright.  Your sweet words mean more than you know.  I look forward to slowly start blogging again bringing new designs, tutorials and inspiration you way.

Starting our first post off with a new free printable. I hope you like it, hang it up and remember to enjoy every day!

Last Day of School Photo Op - Free Printables

In less than 2 weeks my little girls will be celebrating their last day of Kindergarten and Second Grade.  Where did the school year go? Remember the free printable signs we created for the first day of school?  We received so many requests to create a design for the last day of school. I thought it was a great idea and would make a wonderful memento.  Every year we will take a photo on the first day of school and on the last day of school and see how much they have grown in one school year.  I created signs from Preschool through 12th grade.  Please share pictures of your kiddos holding their sign!  Tag us at #annaandblue

"The World is Your Market" Graduation Party

Today I am sharing a beautiful farmer's market themed graduation party styled by Evite that celebrates the graduate and will send them off with a fresh start.  You too can put together this stunning hassle-free event catered by your local Panera Bread which includes a delicious menu that compliments the fresh decor. Take a look at all the inspiration below.  You too can put together your own class-act graduation party!

Create a quick and easy DIY menu board using an inexpensive picture frame and chalkboard spray paint.

Use chalkboards to create decorative signs with fun wording for the graduation such as this "you're one smart cookie" sign displayed next to an assortment of fresh baked cookies.

Create a personalized touch by adding DIY place card holders with the names of your guests using Panera Bread's French Baguettes.

An easy way to display menu items such as chips, baguettes and fruit is by using inexpensive wooden crates. The crates can also be used to place any pieces of your party's decor such as flowers, candy and party favors.

I love this idea of creating a table to honor your Graduate with "Guest Notes" where family and friends can write words of wisdom that will become great mementos for a lifetime.

Visit your local grocery store or flower market as a creative way to add pops of color to your decor.  The flowers can also make for a great party favor for your guests.

Visit Evite Gatherings to view more pictures and find lots of graduation ideas.  Make your next event stress-free with Panera Catering!

As always, we would love to hear your comments.

Drink Umbrella Wreath : DIY Tutorial

Are you getting ready for summer parties?  Our colorful drink umbrella wreath is the perfect way to welcome guests and to add a pop of color to your party decor.  I created the wreath for my daughters' birthday parties which you can see all the photos here and here.  The wreath is super fast, super cute and super inexpensive to make.

What you'll need

Polystyrene or Styrofoam wreath
Package of cocktail umbrellas
Pins, staples or hote glue (optional to attach ribbon)

Directions

1. Insert your umbrellas into the wreath beginning with the inside/center and moving around and outward.  Or you could do the center, then the outside edge and finally place the center umbrellas on top.  The key is to layer the umbrellas to cover any parts of the wreath itself.

2.  Optional: attach a loop of ribbon for hanging using hot glue or pins.
